Aspens provide Knightwood’s school lunches.
Aspens are a nationwide catering contractor that specialises in school food. Please see below for current menus.
All ordering and payments are completed online (via the Swift Kitchen app) by parents and carers at home. There's always a choice of meat/ vegetarian/ jacket potato/ or pasta.
The price of a school meal is £3.20. There is no charge for those children in reception, Year 1 and 2.
Aspen’s standard menus are completely nut free but for those children with a food allergy, Aspens have a standard Allergy Menu that is safe for all 14 allergens.
Packed lunches can also be brought in from home. We do ask for these to be suitable for school with healthy options, ie no chocolate or fizzy drinks.
There are a high number of students in school with nut allergies. Therefore, Knightwood School is a nut free school. This includes cereal bars, Nutella, praline chocolates etc. Thank you for your support with this.
Remember that all children in Years R, 1 and 2 are entitled to the Universal Infant Free School Meal. Registration is not required for Universal Free Sschool Meals.
Schools get government funding for all children who meet the standard free meal criteria. This funding is called pupil premium and we encourage parents of children who meet the standard free meal criteria to register. This includes parents of children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
