Kwik Cricket Festival

Cricket at Knightwood is thriving. Approximately 85 Key Stage children take part in our after school cricket clubs and the standard is very high. This year we have been joined by two parents who are level 2 cricket coaches at IBM Hursley. Mr Ramanam and Mr Naqvi.  This has given cricket an even greater boost.

We competed in the local cricket festival at Hursley Park Cricket Club against 16 other schools. We won our group without defeat and qualified for the quarter finals with ease. In the quarter finals we met Fair Oak who have a long tradition of cricket in their school. It was an excellent match, however unfortunately we lost by a very close margin of 5 runs. Fair Oak eventually went on to win the competition overall so we took some pride from having only narrowly lost to the best team on the day.

Folowing this, we went into the "Bowl" competition, winning all our matches and finishing up as winners of the bowl. A very good result which would mean that we finished 5th overall.

Well done boys. You were excellent all day and a privilege to spend the day with! Thank you to Mr Naqvi who took a day off work to spend the day with us.
