Year 6 had a wonderful week at Calshot learning new skills and enjoying new experiences. Here are just some of the activities the children experienced.
As part of the year 6 project Britain since the 50s, the children came dressed up in various fashions from the different decades. They took part in a fashion shoot and manipulated and edited the photographs. A fashion show was held in Excalibur classroom during the afternoon and each child wrote a commentary describing what they were wearing to accompany their walk down the catwalk.
World War II Day
In Year 6 we have been learning about World War 2. As part of this we had a World War 2 day. The children came dressed as evacuees complete with gas mask boxes which they had all made. We dug for victory, practised for an air-raid, made propaganda posters, looked at artefacts and started a make do and mend project.
Thank you to everyone who came to the Curriculum Evening. If you were unable to attend, the hand outs will be sent home this week with your child and the powerpoint can be found on the class page.
