Trip to Hilliers
This week Year 3 have been on a trip to the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens as part of their Roman topic. The day involved looking at artefacts, making and cooking over an open fire, digging for Roman remains and even marching like a Roman army! It was an excellent day and gave the children the opportunity to experience many of the things they have been learning about in class

Year 3 are learning about the Stone Age. On Tuesday we had a visiting archaeologist who showed us lots of different finds from the Neolithic period. The children were able to experience cave painting and making beads from clay into a necklace.
Galahad class have been accurately measuring parts of their bodies.
They were using tape measures and measuring in cm to the nearest mm.
We recorded the difference between our leg and arm measurements and discussed which body part were the closest in length.
Year 3 had a wonderful time at the Nuffield Theatre on Tuesday. They went to see Fantastic Mr Fox. Here are their reviews of the show.
Year 3 have been learning about the artist Matisse. They had a go at creating their own artwork in his style.
Year 3 have been learning about a healthy diet. As part of the topic, they made some sandwiches ensuring they had balanced all the food groups. Their parents were invited in to try. They all commented on how delicious it was!

Galahad had an RE day learning about special books. The children brought in books from home which were special to them.
Galahad enjoyed playing maths games at beginning of term.
